The Yarra Valley is one of the most beautiful places in Victoria to get married — rolling vineyards, garden estates and that long golden light in the afternoon. We have photographed weddings right across the region, from Fergusson Winery to estates throughout the valley, and we know how to make the most of every part of it.
We know the region and the light
The Yarra Valley is about an hour to an hour and a half from central Melbourne, depending on which part of the valley your venue is in. That drive matters for your timeline — it changes when we need to start, how travel between locations works, and how much of that beautiful end-of-day light we can use. We plan your day around it so nothing feels rushed.
The valley best portraits come from three places, and we will guide you to them:
- The vineyards at sunset. Rows of vines in the golden hour are the signature Yarra Valley shot, and the timing has to be right. We watch the light all day and pull you out at exactly the moment it turns.
- The hills and valley views. The wider landscape — the ridgelines, the morning mist sitting in the valley — gives you portraits you simply cannot get in the city.
- The gardens and trees on the estates. Most Yarra Valley venues have beautiful established gardens and treed areas right on site, perfect for relaxed, intimate portraits close to your guests.
A plan for the weather
