We understand the ceremony
A Jewish wedding photographer has to know the rituals before the day, not learn them on it. We do — and we photograph each one with the respect and timing it deserves:
- The tisch and bedeken. The pre-ceremony moments — the groom’s gathering, the veiling of the bride — are full of emotion and often the most candid, powerful frames of the day.
- The ketubah signing. The marriage contract, the witnesses, the families gathered close. A quiet, important moment we capture without intruding.
- The chuppah. Whether it is inside a synagogue or under the open sky in a garden, the canopy is the heart of the ceremony — the circling, the blessings, the rings.
- Breaking the glass and the Mazel Tov. The single most photographed second of any Jewish wedding. We are locked in and ready — there are no retakes.
Every synagogue has its own rules about where a photographer can stand and what is permitted during the service. We have worked with rabbis across Melbourne’s congregations and we always confirm the details in advance, so the ceremony is captured beautifully and respectfully.
